At a glance
Which wrapper for which goal.
| Your goal | The solution | The rule that makes it interesting |
|---|---|---|
| Saving while staying flexible | Assurance-vie | €4,600 of gains a year tax-free after 8 years, €9,200 for a couple (Article 125-0 A of the French Tax Code) |
| Pay less tax this year | Individual PER | Contributions deducted from taxable income, up to €37,680 for an employee in 2026 |
| Passing on to your children | Assurance-vie, gift | €152,500 per beneficiary free of inheritance tax, €100,000 per child and per parent every 15 years (Articles 990 I and 779) |
| Rental income without management | SCPI | European rents outside French social charges, bare ownership with no taxable income |
| Investing a company's cash | Capitalisation contract | Open to companies, unlike assurance-vie; it can also be transferred by gift without being redeemed. |
| Selling your business | Holding company, contribution then sale (apport-cession) | Capital gain deferred if 70% of the price is reinvested within 3 years (Article 150-0 B ter) |
The choice depends on your tax bracket, your age and your country of residence: that is what the contract X-ray and the first conversation establish.
Frequently asked questions
What clients ask us.
Where to begin?
Start with what you already have. Upload an annual assurance-vie or PER statement: the X-ray shows, in euros, what it costs you each year, and what deserves a closer look. It is free and takes 2 minutes.
How is the firm paid?
Through fees when an advisory engagement is invoiced, and through commissions paid by insurers and asset management companies on the contracts taken out. The details are set out in the engagement document, provided from the first exchange, before any recommendation.
Can you take over contracts that are already open elsewhere?
Yes. An existing contract is never closed on principle: we compare its fees, its investment options and its opening date, which matters for tax (8 years for the allowance on withdrawals, age 70 for inheritance). Keeping, transferring or topping up is decided with the figures in hand.
Do you live abroad? Do the rules change?
Often. A non-resident retains their French assurance-vie policy, but their social security contributions and inheritance tax depend on their country of origin and the applicable tax treaty. The 42 country profiles in our expatriation guide detail the rules for each destination.
